Mediation is a confidential process that allows parties to resolve their issues with the assistance of a neutral third party.
Mediation offers parties the opportunity to settle all or some of their issues without the emotional and financial costs of litigation. Information shared in mediation is private and confidential and cannot be used by either party in court and the mediator cannot be called to testify in a future hearing.
In mediation the parties have the power to participate in decisions which will affect their lives and the lives of their children. They are not leaving those decisions to a Judge who is not familiar with the unique needs of their family. Mediation offers people the ability to choose their own settlement, which also allows far more creativity and flexibility than what a judge would otherwise order. Family law custody issues are unique as once the case is resolved, the parties must continue to co parent and share children forever.
For many, mediation can save time, money and the stress involved in a traditional divorce. Attorney Katie Anderson, CLS-F offers mediation services. For a mediation consultation, contact us here or call (760) 291-4105.
